I was in High School when Alan O'Day's "Undercover Angel" hit #1. I played piano and guitar, and sang along to every song I liked, including that one. After a few detours I embarked on a songwriting adventure and was introduced to Alan by my friend, producer and songwriting mentor Denny Martin. I asked Alan to write a song with me and the rest is history. We wrote a song, I recorded one of his called "Please Don't Believe Me" and here we are great friends nearly 20 years later. Singing on his hits "Rock 'n Roll Heaven" and "Angie Baby" last night was such a thrill and a great honor. Bob had some great guitar moments, we did a few of our own songs, and Alan played keyboard on our "Renaissance Girl." No one plays like O'Day. A one of a kind, already inducted into Rock 'n Roll Heaven as far as I'm concerned. I feel like I've been hit by a truck today but that's ok. Doing music is worth it all. And a tip for my fellow musicians. Take the photos at the beginning of the evening before your hair falls.
